Hi, I’m Lira Smith
And I’m here to prove that anyone can cook. Cooking Rescue is built for people who’ve never cooked before. About Cooking made easy for beginners.

You just finished a long day. You’re tired. You’re hungry. And the last thing you want to do is spend an hour in the kitchen.
I get it. Because that was me too.
My Story
Ten years ago, I was figuring out how to feed myself without burning the house down. So I started with the simplest tool in my kitchen: the microwave.
Turns out, you can make real food—healthy, tasty, actual meals—with minimal effort and maximum time savings. No fancy skills required. Just you, your microwave, and ingredients that actually make sense.
That discovery changed everything for me. Now, I spend my days as a stay-at-home chef and food blogger, creating recipes that work for real life. Not magazine-perfect life. Real life.
What Makes This Different
Most cooking sites assume you know what you’re doing. They throw around terms like “julienne” and “sauté” like everyone grew up in a French kitchen.
Not here.
Cooking Rescue is built for people who’ve never cooked before. Foreign students living alone for the first time. Workers who just moved to a new country. Hobby cooks who want simple wins. And honestly? Anyone who’s just really, really hungry and needs food now.
If you can press buttons on a microwave, you can cook from this blog.
My Philosophy

I believe three things:
- Healthy food shouldn’t take forever. You can eat well without sacrificing your evening.
- Everyone deserves to cook with confidence. No matter your skill level or background.
- Simple methods work best. Complicated recipes just sit in your bookmarks. Easy ones actually get made.
So I focus on microwave cooking methods that cut out the intimidation factor. Because honestly, cooking isn’t supposed to be stressful. It’s supposed to feed you.
